Willow

Adopted

Willow has been adopted!

Willow is a beautiful, dainty Border Collie, who is as intelligent as she is sweet. She was spayed on March 2, and is now ready for adoption.

She is extremely quick to learn and picked up sit, stay, down, and come in no time. Willow has excellent house manners and has never had an accident in the house. She can be left alone without being crated. She loves meeting new people and is affectionate with everyone.

She loves playing with other dogs and has a fun, energetic play style. She enjoys chasing balls, playing tug, and as is typical with herding breeds, likes to gently herd our feet.

We’ve learned that Willow seems to like all dogs as long as she’s given time to meet them. She warms up quickly to some dogs but takes more time with others. Very high-energy or rambunctious dogs can intimidate her, so she’d need a slow introduction to help her feel comfortable.

When first coming to us, she was nervous and reactive on leash around other dogs that barked at her. We are actively working on this, and she is already making great progress. We can now walk past houses with dogs barking and running the fence line and she’s nervous but no longer barking and spinning. I think she’ll get over this with positive reinforcement and more practice.

We have taken her into town and she does well in shops and can see other dogs with minimal concern. She responds well to positive reinforcement.

Willow is an easy dog to live with. She is highly intelligent, and eager to learn. She plays hard and is then content to relax in the house. I work from home and she’s content to lay at my feet.

She’d be a great addition to a home with another friendly dog. 🐾
