Stryker is a gem! This beautiful, sweet 6 year old boy had a wonderful home but his owner, who had been ill, could no longer care for him. Out love for Stryker, he contacted us and made arrangements for the little dog to come into foster care. He arrived with all his belonging – toys, bowls, leash, collar, food, medical records and details for his care. The day after Stryker was settled in his foster home, the owner passed away. Unlike many shelter dogs and strays, this guy knows what he’s lost!

The good news is, Stryker will make a wonderful addition the right home! He is house trained, good with dogs, loves people, and is respectful of cats. He seems to love leash walks or helping out in the fenced backyard. He bonded immediately with his foster family, including the resident dog and has been a perfect gentleman. Stryker is on the smaller side – 36 pounds and 20 inches at the shoulder. His coat is very full, though someone has recently removed some mats with scissors, so his coat will take a few months to look its best. Stryker is – and has always been – up to date on shots and flea and heartworm preventative and was vetted regularly. He is heartworm negative and is neutered.

Stryker is a mellow, gentle dog. He is calm and quiet in the home but has plenty of energy to enjoy a couple of daily walks, runs, or other fun activities. He is very friendly and attentive and enjoys meeting strangers. While active, his energy level is not extreme. We expect he will be a very popular boy and will place quickly.
