Stan has been adopted.
Stan is a 6 year old Border Collie mix picked up as a stray by New Hanover County Animal Control, so not much is known about where he came from or what his life was like before he was rescued. He had been neutered and was in good health when he entered the shelter, although he was a bit underweight. We’re working on that.
He is a real sweet dog, exceptionally calm for a Border Collie. There’s no drama with this dog, he’s so easy going and quiet. He rarely barks at all. He’s also very affectionate and loves to be petted. He can be very active, running around the yard with retrieving tennis balls or he can just lie in the shade and sleep. He does well on a leash and enjoys taking long walks in the park.
Stan adjusted very well to life with his foster family. He gets along well with our dog Baxter (another Border Collie mix) so he shouldn’t have any problems with other dogs in the household.
His only real issue is that he’s worn down his teeth. According to our vet, that isn’t a problem. He’s able to eat dry dog food just fine.
This boy has been through a lot and deserves a wonderful forever home.
