Slushie

Slushie is a 4 month old border collie mix. He was found as a stray with another puppy that was mostly likely his brother. He’s a well adjusted friendly puppy. He is calm and mellow compared to many other puppies. I believe he will become a wonderful family dog. I do not think he will be super high energy like many border collies.

He is working on potty training but will most likely not be fully potty trained before adoption. Slushie does well sleeping in his crate. He is great with other dogs and respects their boundaries fairly well for a puppy. I suspect he was well socialized with people and other dogs early in his doggie life.

He is getting used to my cats, chickens and goats. He’s made significant progress with my cats but still barks at my goats.

He loves toys, snuggles and the occasional fetch. Slushie will bring the ball back after fetching for a few minutes before getting distracted and running off to do puppy things.

Slushie is good with my toddler but like all puppies he jumps and is playfully nippy. His ideal home will need to have enough time to continue his training and understand puppies still need a lot of attention.

Slushie does have some mild thinning of hair on his ears but the vet explained it’s likely from having flees early in his life.
