Biography: I am a great dog, but I don’t really like being with small children. I do love playing with older kids and adults because they know how to pet me and can throw my ball really far! Playing fetch and swimming are my favorite activities! I am a registered working-line Border Collie, and I am very smart! Once I get to know someone, I read them very well and can anticipate what they are going to ask me to do next. I am housebroken and up to date on all my vaccines. I know all my basic commands and absolutely LOVE to be told what to do and to have a job.

Don’t be deceived by my age of 8; I have a lot of energy and am looking for a very active next owner. I could be a running companion, live on a farm/barn, or be a household pet as long as someone is willing to play with me every day. I would be really sad if I had to be locked in a kennel all week, and probably would not be on my best behavior once I was let out.
You say the word, and I will hop in your truck or car and ride with you anywhere you go. I love to be with my owner all the time, if possible. Sammi would love farm work, a barn, or someone who likes to stay on the go! After a long day on the go, I would love to come inside and relax on the couch right by your side.

Do you sound like the perfect person or family to be my next forever home?

Does the dog have any medical issues? No

Does the dog have any history of aggression, such as growling, lunging, snapping, or biting any adult or child? Yes. Not good with young children. She has bitten our two kids (ages 2 and 4). She is not mean but is not patient. She doesn’t do well with kids lying on her, pulling her tail, etc. She would be completely fine with older kids who know what to do around dogs.

Does the dog have any history of aggression toward other animals? No

Reason for re-homing? She isn’t a good fit for our young family.

She isn’t a mean dog. She is very obsessed with her toys, and incidents happened when she was outside, and our kids were outside following her around and “bothering her” when she was so focused on the ball. She really has zero interest in children. She would much rather be around teenagers or adults who know how to treat dogs.
