Rainer

Adopted

Rainer has been adopted!

Rainer is all Sunshine!

Rainer is a 3 year old sweetheart who is ready for his forever home. He is housebroken, knows several commands, and has a very sweet temperament that makes him easy to fall in love with.

This boy is a world-class snuggler who will let you know if his needs are not fully met. He loves to be petted and makes himself at home in your lap or right next to you. He is sociable, friendly with people, does well with other dogs, and loves being part of whatever you are doing. He would love to be your shadow all day!

Rainer came to us from his owner who could no longer keep up with his lifestyle needs. He was well loved, groomed regularly, and had up to date medical records. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t a fit in their particular situation. He found his way to us in Charleston with CBCR over the summer and has been a joy to work with the last few months.

Born in Japan, he has many of the Japanese Border Collie physical characteristics – smaller ears, smaller face, and overall a very cute fluffy boy.

He is very gentle with a polite personality. He is very smart & knows commands like sit, lay down, shake (paw), comes when called, and will “stay” sometimes. Rainer likes to be with his people/person and given the opportunity will sit right at your feet if you work from home or when relaxing on the couch, he thinks he is a lap dog.

Rainer does well with people and other dogs. He has been introduced to children, neighbors, and family. Generally, introductions go well in neutral environments and in the home but he is excitable and will try to jump to greet new people occasionally but in a friendly/excited way.

We are looking for him to go to a great loving home with a backyard that he can run in, someone who loves a cuddle bug, and activities to let him be his playful joyous self.

Rainer’s Highlights:

  • A+ SNUGGLER
  • Gentle, loving & sweet natured
  • Well trained and housebroken
  • Sociable & people friendly

Rainer’s Dislikes:

  • He is not the biggest fan of car rides, unless he is in his crate where he feels safe
  • Not being petted when he wants his snuggles…he can be a little demanding about this
  • Netflix & occasionally other streaming TV apps – when you turn on Netflix and he hears the opening sound / sees the big ā€œNā€ on the screen he barks at the TV as if it were an intruder. A strange quirk but once the show starts he calms right down.
