Rain

Hello my name is Rain. I am 5 months old, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and I will be spayed very soon so I can be adopted. My favorite thing to do in the whole world is play fetch and kick a ball around with my feet. I will seriously fetch all day long if you keep throwing my toys for me. I am super cute so I like to come politely, sit by you and nudge you with my nose until you bend down and throw my ball. I also like to rest one paw on your arm while I am waiting for you to throw my ball for me. Like I said I am super cute. If you don’t play with me I will get bored and do normal puppy things like…. chew on shoes, get into the kitchen cupboards, steel cans of peaches and roll them around on the floor for entertainment.

I can also be cuddly when I want but I am much more into working/fetching. I will be high energy when I am older and need a “job” to do. Basically, I could be a professional fetcher. Sitting at home all day for the rest of my life just hanging out will not keep me happy. My foster mom says she has NEVER seen a puppy my age with so much intensity and focus when it comes to treats, training or fetching. I have that Border Collie “look” for sure. I don’t love my crate but throw a treat in my crate and I will run in willingly and sleep in it all night long quietly. I am also very close to being house broke. I prefer to go potty outside but I haven’t started to ring the bells yet to let the humans know I need to potty. I hold it as long as I can so if you let me out regularly I don’t usually have accidents. Impressive huh??!

Look what it boils down to is I need a home with lots and lots of attention and training. I will need lots of exercise as I age. Oh and Adventures to show me the outside world are a must!! Border Collies can be very shy by nature so EXPOSURE to the world needs to be continuous if you want me to reach my full potential. Right now I love people and kids. BUT I might try to herd kids as I grow up. My foster mom can’t tell how much herding instinct I have because I like to bark and chase the chickens but not herd them yet. I also LOVE the big fluffy cat when I get bored. Usually I ignore this cat called Hunter but when I get bored I like to take my big puppy paws and try to step on him. When he hisses I like to run around him in circles barking. Again my foster mom keeps saying “you just need trained” but for now I still try to step on this cat.
