Pax
Adopted
Pax has been adopted!
Pax is a little gem of a border collie. He’s everything you can expect from the breed and more. He’s about one year old and still totally puppy. He’s a very playful fella, very friendly with all people and dogs, he prefers to play tug with his human over everything else.
Sometimes he forgets how large he is and he has to be reminded that he is not a lap dog. He loves to cuddle and belly rubs are his favorite.
We have worked with him on stop jumping on people but it will need more reinforcement.
Pax loves children but because he is large and sometimes exuberant we recommend him only for older or dog savvy children.
He’s house trained, neutered and up to date on all shots.
When he first arrived he was a terrible counter surfer but has since almost stopped the behavior.
Pax is very smart and an eager learner and you can teach him a new command in a matter of minutes. He’s fairly vocal, he will bark when he’s happy or wants your attention but can be redirected quite easily. He’s good with cats if they’re used to dogs but would likely chase them if they’d run away. He showed only little interest in the foster family’s chinchillas.
We are hoping for a very active home, with daily substantial exercise, possibly some acreage for Pax to run. Commitment to ongoing training is a must.
He would make a great agility or obedience partner. Since he’s still young, applicants should not get upset over a chewed shoe or sock.
