Adopted – Marshall has found his forever home. We wish him the very best life possible.

Marshall is a good-natured, laid-back senior boy who languished in a western NC back yard until CBCR took him into foster. He was intact and heart worm positive, but came through neuter surgery and heart worm treatment with flying colors. His owners reported that he was born to purebred Border Collies whom they had purchased from a breeder. His classic good looks, coat patterning, and love of fetching support that claim.

Marshall adapted to indoor living and learned to use the dog door readily. He is house trained and knows commands SIT, Give PAW , and STAY. He likes nothing better than to lie at his foster person’s feet, ready at a moment’s notice for a walk to the mailbox, a game of ball in the yard, or a long nap. He greets visitors at the door with smiles and wagging tail but without jumping up. He rarely barks and is generally unworried, except during thunderstorms, when he sticks tightly to his person and trembles slightly.

Marshall rides quietly in the car and is a dream on leash — responds to the slightest oorrective pressure and sits quietly while his person converses with neighbors. He gets along wonderfully with teenagers, but got impatient with a two year old who was in let’s-hit-everybody mode, so we advise caution around toddlers.
