Adopted: Maisie has found her forever home. We wish her the very best life possible.

Maisie is a very special girl in search of a very special home. She’s a young (2.5 years) Border Collie who has had a rough start in life. As a result, she is fearful of many things, and needs a home willing to give her the time, patience, and commitment to help her build her confidence. Maisie loves other dogs, and gains confidence from being around them – she will only be adopted to a home with at least one other confident dog to help show her the ropes. Maisie also struggles with some fear-related behavior issues, including submissive urination and car anxiety. These issues are treatable, and with positive reinforcement and time, Maisie will continue to blossom. But if you’re uncomfortable with the idea of a dog that pees on your nice furniture sometimes, just to show she’s not a threat, or a dog that drools all over your car’s backseat because she’s worried, Maisie is not the dog for you. And if you’d ever lose your temper and scold Maisie for these behaviors – which would only make it worse – you are not the person for Maisie. But if you think you can give this poor girl the attention, patience, and care that she needs, you will be rewarded with the dog of a lifetime. She is the sweetest, gentlest little soul who wants nothing more than to sit in your lap and snuggle, follow you around the house, or run around with you on adventures in the great outdoors. Maisie is not the right dog for most people. But she’s the perfect dog for someone.
