Little Bear is a 4-year-old neutered, 50-pound, pure-bred border collie looking for his forever home.
Little Bear is social and extremely affectionate with people, old and young. We refer to him as a Velcro dog whose head would be perpetually attached to a leg or lap if allowed. He is a loyal, strong companion.
Bear’s ideal home would be a multi-acre spread with lots of trees, a home with a dog door, and possibly another dog to play with. He loves to run and chase squirrels or simply run, and to frolic with another dog.
Little Bear was recently discovered with a small cruciate tear in his right hind leg. Although he currently has no limp or pain, this condition sometimes warrants surgery.
Little Bear was taught early in life to protect his family from men in uniform, and we have not been successful at breaking him of this. We simply keep him locked in the back yard in the afternoons.
You would be a lucky household to incorporate Little Bear into. To look into his golden eyes is to melt with love. And to hear him talk in his deep growl to greet you, to tell you that he loves you, or to talk about his breakfast is to be enchanted by a prince in the forest. He is a strong and regal dog with layers of thick, wavy hair.
