Kumba is a beautiful 9 year old Border Collie Australian Shepherd mix. He knows a bunch of commands and would do well in a home that would continue to use them, is kid, dog, and cat free. Kumba has lived with other dogs before and done great eventually but it requires months of dedication, training, and patience. Kumba does wonderful on long car rides, loves to cuddle, is amazing on a leash and does well off leash at the beach or in a big field. Kumba will match the energy of the owner. He loves to lay around but will go hiking, swimming or play fetch in a heartbeat. He enjoys getting a bath and lets you clip nails easily. He can be groomed or left natural. Kumba does well at doggy daycare. Kumba does well in both a small apartment or a house with a yard. Health wise Kumba deals with anxiety and is successful with medication. He eats a specific dry dog food and gets his teeth cleaned yearly. He is chipped. Will protect you if necessary.

Through training and consistency he has overcome most leash reactivity and resource guarding.

What is the reason for re-homing?
Kumba has tried to herd small children in the past and we just don’t trust him around our 1 year old son who has recently become more mobile.
