Koda
Koda is a two-year-old BC mix. He is neutered and up to date on his shots. He has had just a few accidents in the house, but is doing very well on house breaking. He was surrendered by his owner because he was knocking down their very young children. He has been good with kids but can unintentionally knock down very young children. Good with cats, most dogs and so far, chickens. He ignores chickens but will chase/play if they take off running from him. A simple “no” or calling him and he will stop.
He can be kenneled but doesn’t really enjoy it. He typically will whine for 30 minutes then stop and go to sleep in his kennel if it’s in another room. He will go right to sleep in his kennel if you leave it in your bedroom at night and he knows you are there with him. A typical day for him is a good walk in the morning/potty time/feeding. During work, he is left out free in the house and he is fine on his own chewing on bones. Return from work and he gets another walk/potty break/feeding. He just enjoys being near people and laying by you chewing on bones. I either kennel him over night or let him sleep with us.
He really prefers to be with you no matter what you’re doing. He may have some slight separation anxiety but since he has been here has really calmed down and much more okay with being alone. His previous owner stated he jumped their four-foot fence and chased the neighbors goats. Since he has been here he hasn’t jumped mine but I’m sure he can. He would need a more secure/taller fence if he ever is going to allowed freely in a backyard unsupervised. He has been to Lowes, Petco and PetSmart and did great in public. He also loves to be chased by other dogs and play with toys but doesn’t bring them back to you yet. He also loves snow and constantly wants to go outside and play.
