Jesse

Jesse is a sweet, older gentleman who was abandoned in a trailer park when his owner moved away. Jesse was emaciated, filthy and terrified when he arrived at the shelter. The staff showed him the kindness and respect he’d never known, and reached out to us. Now in foster, though arthritic and unsure of himself, he is loving the warmth, affection, regular meals, pills for his aches, kind words and soft surfaces for napping. Jesse is believed to be about 12 years old, house trained, 42 pounds, up to date on shots, parasite free, heartworm negative and on preventative and microchipped. He is not neutered because he has a heart condition that would could make anesthesia risky for him. He has shown no unpleasant behaviors related to his intact status. When posted on his foster’s Facebook page asking if anyone would like the privilege of giving this sweet boy the last, best part of his life, a wonderful local couple stepped up. They have made a decision to adopt only senior dogs going forward and their second one passed away recently. If all goes well, Jesse will be going home with them soon and they will try to make up for all the bad times in the time he has left to enjoy. Watch this site for status updates. In the meantime, please consider senior dogs for adoption. They may be shorter term family members, but are quiet, loving, easygoing and non demanding and are grateful for any kindness!
