Evie

Adopted

Evie has been adopted!

Evie is a gem of a young Border Collie mix, she is the sweetest, blue eyed girl! She was found as a stray and we don’t know much about her history. Based on the birdshot pellets we saw on her radiographs and the fact that the tip of one of her ears is missing she probably did not live a very sheltered life. Nevertheless, she is the happiest, cuddliest, most trusting girl who loves all humans alike. We are talking therapy dog material! Her preferred location is right next to her foster parents, or ideally on their lap. She is on the small side with just about 37lb. Evie loves to go for car rides and walks well on a leash, she could be a great running/hiking partner. She is a passionate squirrel huntress – a fenced in yard is necessary as she will just take off at the notion that there may be a squirrel somewhere. She is not a “performance sport” dog necessarily, but she does like to chase a good ball and enjoys playing with toys.

Evie is a people-oriented dog and while she gets along with her adult foster siblings after some adjustment period, she doesn’t really want to play with them and prefers to hang out with her foster parents. She absolutely adores a little foster puppy who joined our household and we think she may have had a litter of puppies herself in the past. She would probably prefer to be the only dog in a household or could be fine with a smaller, submissive companion who gives her the space she likes. She is good with the resident cat although she does want to play with him which might scare a timid cat.

We have not thoroughly tested her with children, but she was excited to see kids at the store, wagging her tail furiously in the hopes they would come pet her. Based on her gentle nature and overall sweetness we think she would do great with kids. She is mostly house broken but will probably need a refresher course in a new environment.

Evie is quickly recovering from her spay surgery and is ready to find a loving new family of her own!

Evie will need a fenced-in yard, and will not be placed in a home with an invisible fence.
