Biography: Collie is a sweet, intelligent, and loyal 5-year-old female Border Collie with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She is energetic and thrives with active owners who love the outdoors — her favorite activities are frisbee, catch, and long walks. She is house-trained, will not run away, and is fully up to date on all vaccinations with no medical issues. Collie does best in a calm, structured environment with an experienced dog owner who understands the Border Collie breed. She has lived with a toddler and while she is generally gentle, she can be timid and needs space when feeling overwhelmed. She is being rehomed due to major family changes and deserves a forever home where she can truly thrive.
Additional Information: • House trained and will not run away • Sweet, intelligent, and loyal • Energetic and loves outdoor activities — especially frisbee and catch • Does beautifully on walks on a leash • Does not do well in cars and tends to bark at passing vehicles • Best suited for an active, experienced dog owner with a yard
Does the dog have any medical issues? No
Does the dog have any history of aggression such as growling, lunging, snapping or biting any adult or child? Yes. She has growled when my toddler approached her too quickly or got too close to her personal space. She has never snapped or bitten. This appears to be a stress response rather than true aggression — she communicates her discomfort clearly and backs away. She would do best in a home with older children or adults who understand her boundaries.
Does the dog have any history of aggression toward other animals? Yes. She will bark at other dogs that approach our home or yard, which appears to be territorial behavior. However, she does exceptionally well at her boarding facility, where she socializes comfortably with other dogs. She can be timid around large dogs, but has never shown serious aggression. She is generally a friendly and social dog in neutral environments.
Reason for re-homing? Due to significant family changes, I am no longer able to provide Collie with the home she deserves.
