Adopted: Breeze has found her forever home. We wish her the very best life possible.

Breeze is an absolute sweetheart! She arrived in a rural southern shelter as a stray and no one came for her. Though she was dirty and sad, her lovely, calm personality was completely intact. Miss Breeze is sweet, affectionate and non demanding. She is house trained (uses a dog door in her foster home), loves leash walks and prefers to smell the flowers along the way, enjoys car rides and being with her people. She is good with dogs, particular those with a personality similar to her own. I suspect she was an outdoor dog in her past life and she is very food motivated. She may not be willing to share food or treats with other dogs. Not sure, just a guess as we feed our dogs in separate spaces. Cats are an unknown, but given her keen interest in rabbits, squirrels and cats we meet on walks, I’d guess she should not share her home with one… She is now spayed and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. We are guessing her to be approximately 6 years old. Her weight is 33 pounds, so she is on the small side for a Border Collie.

Because Breeze is positive for heartworm, she will need to complete treatment before she can be adopted. She should be finished with her treatment sometime in August.

Breeze would make a wonderful companion for a retiree! She might also be pretty happy napping during the working day and enjoying a couple of nice leash walks, love and attention during the evenings and weekends, or ‘helping’ with errands and gardening. Her need for exercise is not excessive. Once over her heartworm, she will be a healthy, happy girl and already has a heart of gold!!
