Meet Bella!!

Personality:

Bella is incredibly affectionate towards her humans and thrives on attention. She is a snuggle bug and will sit in your lap or right next to you as long as you will let her. She is generally good with children as long as she is the one to make the first introduction. Bella does have some challenges that she has been working through which will need to be taken into consideration when deciding if it is the best fit. Although she is very comfortable with humans once introduced on her terms, she struggles with reactivity towards other dogs, especially ones smaller than her. She can warm up to larger dogs but it takes lots of time and patience, and can still show signs of resource guarding even with a dog her size or larger that she has known for a while. She will need a patience and understanding home.

Energy Level:

Bella has a medium-high energy level, making her great for active families. However, she does love simply relaxing by your side. Favorite Activities: Bella enjoys walks and running when given the chance. She is not much for fetch but does enjoy chewing her kong with peanut butter or nylabone. Her other favorite pastime is napping. CAR RIDES are another FAVORITE! She does amazing on Car Rides!

Special Considerations:

Bella needs to be the only pet in the home. While she is incredibly loving towards people, she does not get along with other dogs, especially small ones, and her behavior around cats or other small animals is unknown. Ideal adopters will have a secure yard or will ensure Bella is always on a leash with a harness when outside to prevent encounters with other dogs.

Health & Training:

Bella is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and in great health. She previously had heartworms but has been medically cleared. Her next regular check up will be in June/July. She is house-trained & crate-trained. She knows basic commands like sit, up, wait, and will come when in a fenced yard alone, however, is not an off leash dog.

Perfect Home:

A loving home without other pets. An experienced owner family or individual who can be patient and committed to Bella. Her new family must be willing to invest time and effort into continued training, behavior modification, and/or prevention of triggers. Bella needs a secure fenced yard for supervised play and someone who enjoys regular walks but can manage, anticipate, and mitigate encounters with other dogs, especially smaller ones.

Why Bella Will Steal Your Heart:

Bella has an abundance of love to give and will be your most loyal companion. She is the snuggliest, cuddliest, and softest pup – great for taking naps with or just lounging on the couch or chair to watch TV or read. Bella’s smile will make your heart melt while her affectionate nature and love for her people make her a great furry friend to spend furever with!!
