Adopted – Baxter has found his forever home. We wish him the very best life possible.

Baxter is a 10 month old Border Collie mix, an owner surrender to Cumberland County Animal Control in Fayetteville.

He is really a wonderful dog. He’s very affectionate, loves to be petted and is great on a leash. Going for a walk is his favorite thing to do. He is quick to learn. He’s already learned several basic commands like sit, stay and come. He has a sweet, calm disposition and is OK with being left alone.

He likes playing with toys but is just starting to get the idea of catching balls and Frisbees. We are sure that will come with time.

We don’t know how it he is with cats, as he hasn’t been around any. But when he’s met other dogs out on walks, he’s curious but not aggressive. He wags his tail and says hello. He is also good about letting strangers pet him with permission. That happens a lot when we take him out.

Although he has not been around children for extended periods of time, when meeting them out on walks, he is friendly and gentle, wagging his tail and letting them pet him.

Currently he is being treated for kennel cough and hookworms, but he’s getting better every day. Also he needs to be neutered.

He will be a loving companion for anyone.
